Queens Park Station to close for a month

Queens Park Station will be closed from the 22nd of July until the 17th of August because of subsidence, along with the other stations on the eastern side of the Cathcart circle (Pollokshields East, Crosshill, Mount Florida and Cathcart). A half-hourly bus service will start at Pollokshields East and call at these stations and Kings Park. The western side is not affected.

ScotRail season tickets will be valid on the Arriva, City Sprinter and First Glasgow buses.

Friday 4th July 1pm
Paint a Pirates Treasure Chest, perfect for hiding loot! Learn to age paper and make a treasure map. Then decorate your project with shells and jewels! £7 per child. Includes all materials. Booking Essential.

Saturday 19th July 12pm
Paint a Beach Bag, perfect for summer holidays! Use paint, stamps and stencils to create your own unique design. £6.50 per child. Includes all materials. Booking Essential.

Monday 28th July 1pm
Decoupage. Use themed papers to cover a box or basket. Themes include pirates, cherubs, princess and much more! Have fun and learn a new technique! £6 per child. Suitable for children aged 6+. Booking Essential.

Outreach Events

Join Busy Bees Craft Studio every Tuesday and Thursday throughout summer on the Tall Ship at Glasgow Harbour. We will be doing a different nautical themed craft each week. Free with Tall Ship admission ticket.

Southside Festival 2008

We will be at the Southside Festival on Saturday the 28th of June in Queens Park. We’ve got a stall in the marquee next to the bowling club at the Balvicar Drive entrance to the park. Doors open at 12 noon and the parade arrives in the park at 12.45pm. Come along and say hello.

Bungo in the Back Lanes 2008

In addition to these, there are many other stalls selling everything from home baking to hand-made jewellery and clothes. The event starts at 1pm on Saturday the 21st of June. We are looking for donations for the tombola, bottle and lucky dip stalls. Anything will be accepted, including bottles of shampoo, tins of beans, unused fancy goods and so on. Get in touch if you have anything.

Also look out for local scout troups selling raffle tickets and, of course, the map and flyer with full details coming through every letterbox in Strathbungo.
